IGNITE THE FIRE WITHIN

Ideal Team Award – Celebrating Unity & Excellence

By Tiffany Delizo

Ideal Team Award

On June 2nd, 2024, athletes and coaches gathered at Sharjah Sports Club for a very special event. The UAE Taekwondo Federation held a ceremony to honor teams from across the country. One of the main highlights was the Ideal Team Award, which is given to teams that show great teamwork, respect, and support for each other.

In sports, especially in Taekwondo, working together is just as important as being strong or fast. The UAE Taekwondo Federation understands this and wants to teach young athletes the value of being a good teammate. That’s why they created this award—to remind everyone that being part of a strong team helps everyone grow.

What is the Ideal Team Award?

The Ideal Team Award is not just about winning matches or medals. It’s about showing:

  • Support for your teammates- Helping, cheering, and standing by your team, both in practice and during competitions
  • Dedication in training-Showing up regularly, working hard, and always trying to improve
  • Good sportsmanship-Being fair, kind, and respectful—win or lose.
  • Respect for coaches and others-Listening, learning, and treating everyone with kindness and courtesy.

This award celebrates the whole team, not just one person. It reminds us that when we work together, we can achieve more. It also helps teams build strong friendships and a positive environment.

Highlights of the Day

Before the awards were handed out, our Demo Team gave an exciting performance. They showed powerful moves, great timing, and amazing teamwork. The audience loved it and clapped loudly after the show. Many people said it was one of the best parts of the event!

Besides the performances and awards, there were speeches from Taekwondo leaders, fun activities for young athletes, and a chance to celebrate everyone’s hard work this season.

Final Thoughts

The Ideal Team Award is a reminder that teamwork matters. It’s not just about winning—it’s about how we treat each other, how we train together, and how we grow as a group.

We hope more teams will aim to work together, support each other, and keep learning. Events like this bring the Taekwondo community closer and make the sport stronger.

Let’s keep showing the power of teamwork—on and off the mat!
